I just saw Joe Biden on
Real Time with Bill Maher (Fridays at 11pm EST, please check your local listings), and as weird as it sounds...he was pretty damn good. As a Feingold supporter from Wisconsin (whose last post here was on credit card interest rates, nudge nudge, wink wink, Joe), I can say that it's within the realm of possibility that I would cast a vote for him in a primary.
Thanks for sticking around!
He was very articulate and (to me) authentic when he addressed issues like Democratic elitist views on religion or how to address the Mess in Iraq (TM). Maher even stood up for Biden's tendency to be, well, long-winded (which we witnessed all too often in the Alito hearings). He also came out and actually said yes, he was running for President, which is nice to see when so many candidates tend to pussyfoot around the issue. (Can I say that here?)
I really wasn't much of a Biden supporter before, and he's by no means a flawless candidate --- he does have a little too much support from credit card companies than is comfortable, he's a senator (and thus at a disadvantage), and, 'round these parts, there's a lot more love for Russ than Joe. Just the same, though, I guess if he made it through the primaries, I think he could win.
There. I said it. Don't hate me. :)
