Is it still April Fool's Day at the Washington Post? That was my first thought when I opened the editorial page today and saw the headline:
A GOOD LEAK: President Bush declassified some of the intelligence he used to decide on war in Iraq. Is that a scandal?
It gets worse.
The piece, written by those great watchdogs of government at the Washington Post, basically tell us that Bush should be PRAISED rather than DERIDED for "declassifying" information he used to help make the case for war: "None of this is particularly relevant to the question of whether the grounds for war in Iraq were sound or bogus. It's unfortunate that those who seek to prove the latter would now claim that Mr. Bush did something wrong by releasing for public review some of the intelligence he used in making his most momentous decision."

Are they kidding? Have they been reading their paper's own stories? Are they on the administration's payroll? This is an outrage, and I plan to write a letter to the editor. I hope others will as well. We have enough problems trying to convince the electorate of the misdeeds of this heinous administration without this kind of crap from the MSM.
