Hi! I need some of your money, if you can spare some.
Refreshing honesty, huh? That's because I'm not a politician seeking your donation. I'm just a regular guy who has picked a fight with the politicians in one of the reddest states there is - Alabama. I'm fighting against politicians here breaking the law.
I started a movement of local netizens getting out and doing something to make the community look better and to make the politicians take responsibility for their illegal actions (or at least lose some of their campaign's investment in plastic signs).

Talk about grass roots - there isn't a single political group or oranization of any kind that we are beholden to. We just get out and take care of business.
What are we up to?
Removing campaign signs. In Alabama, they are illegal on the state right of way.
Section 23-1-6
Signs, markers and advertising - On rights-of-way.
Signs, markers and advertising on the rights-of-way of state controlled highways are prohibited except those official signs or markers placed thereon by the State Department of Transportation or under its authority.
(Code 1923, §1344; Acts 1927, No. 347, p. 348; Code 1940, T. 23, §36.)
The state doesn't have the manpower (or will?) to enforce this, and the politicians spam our highways with thousands of illegal signs (we've already removed thousands, literally). They claim they clean them all up after the elections. They lie.
So this is it - a request for money to help us fight this fight, help us hold them accountable. We want to take out ads in local papers.
Can you help us out?
