Please use this diary if you voted in today's primary for the Democratic nominee for the general election in November 2006.
Today's contest pits party technocrat and IT lobbyist Harris Miller versus James Webb, former military chief in the Navy and "prodigal son" that has returned to his original party.
I was #5 @ ~ 7:15AM in Northern Virginia...my polling station said that they usually have about 20-30 in by now, so turnout will probably end up tracking the 3-4% of registered voters.
Since Virginia has open primaries it will be interesting to see if that comes into play or not...the weather is nice, school is out, but this race did not get the national exposure that the special election in CA-50 (Busby/Bilbray) or the upcoming donnybrook in Connecticut (Lieberman/Lamont) has received nationally.
