So in watching the Nightline piece on Kos I was amazed at the so called "liberal media bias" missing from thier piece. Lacking any credible criticism of him and his idea for The Daily Kos, they had to resort to criticism based on the fact that he makes MONEY doing what he does and the shocker....... "he bought a new grand piano, when this old one still works just fine!!!!" HONEY STOP THE PRESSES. That Kos is letting his success go to his head!!
Watching pieces like this in the traditional media radically switch from praise of the medium and its rising influence to a literal hit piece on the man responsible for it all in less than a paragraph makes me laugh! As far as I'm concerned, this site for ME, is free. For all of us. I pay for nothing. Kos makes money from advertising and thru his book. Maybe other things related as well, but thats IRRELEVENT to me as a Daily Kos reader. As far as I'm concerned, he DESERVES to make money for this!! You're telling me that Shrummy, Bucanan and the usually cast of pundentry characters do it for the love of it? Is it not the American Way to develop your ideas and dreams into a vision for a business that makes a difference? I would say The Daily Kos fits that definition. I'm interested less in him than I am in the site and the COMMUNITY anyway. Yes, he is a clear voice for the left, but I in many cases DISAGREE with him. But does success make him a bad guy? Some in the media attempt to be apologists for guys like Ken Lay and Jack Abramoff, people who literally stole (yes, STOLE) millions of dollars from people and taxpayers, and they give Kos a hard time for BUYING a house and a piano!! With earned money. Gotta love that liberal media bias.
So Kos, if you are reading, you play your damn piano and live in your house in Berkely. And work on that nice Mac laptop. God knows you deserve it. Success for you is success for all progressives. Just dont move to DC please. Then I might start to have concerns!!
