New Attraction Allows Visitors a Chance to "Get Bin Laden"
ANAHEIM, Calif., September 11, 2006 - Famed intergalactic hero Buzz Lightyear has been tapped to help Disneyland celebrate the 5 year anniversary of the September 11th terrorist attacks on the United States with the addition of a new out-of-this-world attraction, "Path to 9/11 - The Ride." The new attraction will premiere in Fantasyland on September 11, 2007. The space adventure stars Buzz Lightyear; the intrepid galactic hero from Disney/Pixar's hit film Toy Story. Enlisting guests as members of the United States Department of Homeland Security., would-be Space Rangers help Buzz defeat the evil Osama Bin Laden before he can strike the US again.
The attraction is an interactive experience in which guests pilot their own Space Cruisers and twist, turn and fire personal laser cannons in order to hit terrorist targets and gain points that will protect the United States from future terror attacks! Total scores will appear in the Space Cruiser at the conclusion of each adventure. Throughout the ride, terrorist targets will be blocked by the likes of former president Bill Clinton, former National Security adviser, Sandy Berger and former Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright. Double points will be given for hitting any of these targets during the course of the ride. At one surprise turn during the adventure, guests are unexpectedly thrust into Iraq, where they can increase their point totals by hitting any brown-skinned people they see.
"It will be especially popular with the video game generation," said Ron Wingnut, senior vice president of Walt Disney Imagineering. "Players will jump back on the attraction again and again to improve their scores and to fight the Islamofascist/Democratic party agenda."
"Path to 9/11 - The Ride." will be located at the entrance to Fantasyland, in the former site occupied by the CircleVision Theater, and will be a Disney FASTPASS attraction. Featuring a host of familiar faces, including George W. Bush, the black light adventure features a vibrant and colorful patriotic setting.
