Nearing one million deaths as the cost to execute the executioner.
Billions of taxpayer dollars expended for the cause.
Don't you feel better now knowing that it only takes a few billion dollars and hundreds of thousands of lives to make the world a better place?
President Bush. So warm and fuzzy. Ahhh.
WANTED-- one million persons willing to lay down their life in exchange for the execution of ONE brutal dictator. All ages included including women and children. Reply to Donald Rumsfield at the Pentagon.
In 2006 in an Iraqi kangaroo court, Saddam was convicted of the 1992 brutal murders of 140-something of his fellow countrymen. On a Muslim holy day he is hanged. The last seconds of his life on earth captured on video through the lens of a cell phone. How quaint. "Hey mom, you gotta see this!"
To achieve this end result (that being the execution of the executioner) it has cost dearly. To date, the UN estimate of civilian deaths may be as many as 600,000 Iraqis, 3000 American troops, more than 200 coalition soldiers, scores of journalists, not including the deaths of the enemy combatants. Not included is the cost in terms of loss for the families of the deceased. Not to mention the cost of the permanently maimed soldiers and civilians who have sacrificed limbs, eyes, faces and various other body parts for the cause.
"Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country."
President John F. Kennedy
How many billions of dollars have been spent to bring the executioner to his execution? $100 billion? Billions of American taxpayer dollars that could have otherwise been invested for peaceful purposes, to promote peaceful alternatives.
Mr. Bush, how many more lives do you need for your undefined, unjustified occupation of sovereign nations of the world? Since your aim seems to be indiscriminate death and destruction why not just toss a few H bombs here and there and get it over with quickly, so that the rest of the world can go on with living?
Mr. Bush-- Love is all you need.
