I mean, c'mon, it's so obvious that he has thought about this long enough for this to be a foolproof plan...I'm completely and utterly serious...just follow me below the fold.
See, it works like this: In November, the Constitution of the United States looks like it held sway. Elections were held, and the overall consensus was that the Iraq war, among a gazillion other things, was beyond clusterfuck. American's return of the Democrats to power was hailed as a giant NO to any further escalation in Iraq.
The problem with this was obvious: all of the founding fathers, already spinning furiously in their graves from the amazing, brazen attempts at getting rid of the checks and balances of both the Legislative and Judicial branches by the "unitary executive", began to slow down their spinning with this result!
Like I say, Democrats were returned to power in the Legislature, meaning that the checks and balances of the Constitution were legitimate. This legitimacy slowed the founding father's spinning. Here's where Bush realized it was time for decisive action!
I'm sure that what Bush intends is obvious: by blatantly ignoring the November result and pushing ahead with an escalation of the war, he hopes this will spark the founding fathers spinning speed to reverse, and in the best case, to increase at an exponential rate, probably a rate that can finally be tapped for energy, and most surely enough energy (I haven't completed the calculations, but preliminary estimates look very good) to power the entire Atlantic coast for the next 150 years, given also the rate of increasing energy needs factored out.
So, thank you, Mr. Bush. I completely support this escalation. The forefathers spinning will increase, providing cheap/free energy for generations and the failure of the escalation, and it's consequent failure to illegally seize cheap/free Iraqi oil, will be a parenthetic semi-colon in history.
You are a genius, sir, for ignoring the will of the American People, and for that, I fully support your energy plan for the next three generations of America. History will never forget you!
