Now I see what the right wingers were saying about the extreme left's blind Bush hatred. I find Stark's comments to be totally fine and on target except the words "for the President's amusement." I may loathe Bush's war and his policies, but I would never say Bush is "amused" by all the men and women dying in Iraq. I'm sure Bush cares rather deeply--thus why he is so determined to "succeed" in Iraq and stick with his bone-headed inept policy instead of changing course.
The vast majority of Americans, even though they want the war to end, would also never say Bush is being entertained by the thoughts of heads blowing off our troops. Come on people. You can attack his tactics, his manipulation of the truth, but saying Bush is amused and entertained when our troops die is just sleazy and over the line. It's as inane and ofeensive as when Republicans say "Democrats want us to lose in Iraq" and "Democrats want Al-Queda to win."
I enjoy a good Pete Stark rant and like his passion. I still think the last part of his comment is offensive and don't blame the GOP now for jumping all over it. And only the Kool-Aid drinkers on liberal blogs would defend such a comment just as only Michelle Malkin's Kool Aid followers are still smearing 12 year olds...perhaps the partisan left and right have more in common than they think.
