First we heard that telcos have been "assisting" the Government by committing unlawful acts since 9/11.
Then we heard that it actually started well before 9/11.
Does anyone have any information to suggest whether or not it's still happening now?
I, for one, would be very surprised if it wasn't. But I don't see any coverage in the press at all about it. Are we still being spied upon?
It strikes me that since there has been widespread public acknowledgment of (a) the undeniable reality of the illegal spying, and (b) the fact that it is, indeed, illegal, there ought to be prosecutions by now. But, immunity or no immunity, I haven't seen any suggestion that any of these practices have been abandoned.
