I started out being Gung-ho for Gore. I gave up on that. I like the idea of an African American president, or a female president, but neither Obama nor Clinton appear ready to lead.
My moral is pretty low. We all know what is happening to our country. Jobs are leaving the US so that other countries can make products that we end up buying that aren't safe to be sold. We get screwed, then screwed some more. We intimidate our scientists, we are strangling the arts, torture, tasering, and denying habeas corpus is becoming common practice, we have our heads in the sand on global warming, and the US dollar as well as our reputation abroad is starting to feel empty.
Happy Thanksgiving. I better cheer up before we have company come over for dinner tonight. I like the way Chris Dodd has lead on important issues. But I am starting to think, as Jafar or Scar said, "Desperate times call for desperate measures." It seems obvious that Dennis Kucinich is the most liberal candidate out there. He raises a good point. It sounds naive and not "macho cowboy" to say, but maybe we do need a healer in the White House. For the world.
Maybe the question shouldn't be, "who I want to drink a beer with," but who I want to read "bed time stories to my children."
Sorry for the ridiculous diary. I know the criticism is that Dennis is too idealistic and doesn't get anything done. But look at our Congress. Not idealistic and doesn't try to get anything done enough. I am still undecided. What do people think? Who do you think the answer...The Desperate Times For Desperate Measures Candidate?
Have a safe and warm holiday!
