I had to work this morning until noon. When I got home, I was very interested in finding out how the White House accolades went this morning regarding the Nobel Prize winners for this year.
Considering the written and on-line media mention (albeit limited) leading up to it, especially over the weekend, I was in very high hopes of seeing at least some coverage of the event early this afternoon.
Clipped from Huffington Post
I have checked out all my cable news stations for the last hour, including BBC America, and I see or hear absolutely no mention of how the event went off. I haven't been able to find anything on-line either. Nothing new beyond announcements from over the weekend.
Were any cameras and media allowed at the event? Did it get conveniently rescheduled because of the international event in Maryland?
Thanks for your input.
(UPDATE) It is amazing to me that not one single MSM TV station is prepping people for this event at 3:00 p.m. (eastern ?). They just showed Laura Bush getting all goo goo about the new Christmas tree for the blue room, but there is no mention of this wonderful event! It's not even just about Al Gore. There are other prominent recipients that deserve recognition and mention! What a coward Bush is. An indisputable coward from the core. The media can't possibly be making this decision on their own to ignore this event 40 minutes before it takes place.
UPDATE (About 3:15 p.m. est) Noron on MSNBC showed a short and obviously edited clip of Bush with the recipients. I have to say that Bush looks like he feels utterly insignificant and uncomfortable. As he should. He's a thief, liar and murderer. There were no congratulatory words publicly in the clip at that time. Perhaps something more substantial and significant will be shown later. Keith Olbermann will likely have better goods tonight on his show. I'll be watching then.
There you have it folks! Bush was spared too much air time and discomfort, and these wonderful people who deserve international, global accolades for their accomplishments simply gathered to give him another photo op. Bush really did look like he could throw up. I'm glad. He is so insignificant next to Gore. And it showed.
