Today's event is the Heartland Democratic Presidential Forum
On Saturday, we go to Iowa for a Democratic Presidential candidates forum hosted by a group called the Center for Community Change. This LIVE event will give grass-roots organizers a chance to question five of the leading presidential candidates.
The Heartland Presidential Forum will bring 5000 real people from around the country to Des Moines, IA in order to tell their stories and ask presidential candidates hard questions about real issues that affect their lives every day.
This is not the usual, Washington-insider event. This groundbreaking event puts our stories and values on the national stage. It is our chance to talk about the real issues facing real people in our communities. And today, the candidates will respond directly to us! We all know that politicians often ignore the values and issues of everyday people. But today, they are paying attention!
The forum can be viewed on C-Span1 TV or can be streamed via the C-Span link or from the Center for Community Change's site, (click link on left side of the page). C-Span's schedule indicates the event to last approximately two hours; The Center for Community Change's site indicates this to last three hours. (I don't know if C-Span will cut the coverage after two hours.)
Participants:
Hillary Rodham Clinton
Chris Dodd
John Edwards
Dennis Kucinich
Barack Obama

Great diary - one important correction...
This isn't a Democratic candidate forum. ALL presidential candidates were invited but only the 5 Democrats participating today agreed to attend.
If you take a closer look at the sponsoring organizations it becomes apparent that this could not by design have been planned as a forum for only one political party's candidates.
