CNN released a series of polls today pitting the top 3 Democrats against the top 4 Republicans. The result? Edwards dominates, with as many as 60% of the respondents in one match-up choosing him. He also fares much, much better than Mr. Obama and Mrs. Clinton. (more)

is plus or minus 3 percentage points.
It was Edwards, Clinton, and Obama matched up against Giuliani, McCain, Huckabee, and Romney. Against Guiliani:
Clinton: 51
Giuliani: 45
Obama: 52
Giuliani: 45
Edwards: 53
Giuliani: 45
No big differences there. Here's where it begins to get interesting. Against Romney:
Clinton: 54
Romney: 43
Undecided: 1
Obama: 54
Romney: 41
Undecided: 1
Edwards: 59
Romney: 37
Undecided: 1
Edwards comes out 22 points ahead of Romney while Clinton and Obama come out only 11 and 13 points ahead, respectively. A pattern emerges. Against McCain:
Clinton: 48
McCain: 50
Obama: 48
McCain: 48
Undecided: 1
Edwards: 52
McCain: 44
Undecided: 1
Why Republicans aren't catching on that McCain could possible be their best bet to win in November, I don't know and don't care. And McCain at 50% against Clinton? But here comes the kicker. Against Huckabee:
Clinton: 54
Huckabee: 44
Obama: 55
Huckabee: 40
Undecided: 1
Edwards: 60
Huckabee: 35
Undecided: 1
A spread of 25 points for Edwards. Could Huckabee's low number be due to a lack of name recognition? Perhaps. I know for sure though, that I can't wait for us to wrap up our primaries so we can start hitting the Republicans. And finally, everyone's favorite poll question:
