I was wondering, today, just what’s happening in South and Central America. You know, other than our Prezidunce traveling around down there, trying to piss each and every South and Central American off, one at a time (and, by the way, doing one heckuva job!)
I thought, other than the pissing-off thing, what’s been going on down there? Haven’t been reading about FARC killing a lot of people or the Amazon burning down (although it is) or us trying to overthrow yet another democracy. Maybe everything is starting to smooth out!!
Then I thought: No... that’s not right. That CAN’T be right! Bush is our Prezidunce! If we’re not hearing about him screwing things up, it’s only because our media isn’t telling us, and the time to worry is when things get quiet.
Things are too quiet, I thought. (ominous music goes here)
Oh, sure, there are riots and effigy burnings and people being killed because Bush is visiting the rest of the Americas, but that’s normal. I thought: something else HAS to be going on.
I then thought that even though Bush has been making friends for us around the world, faster than you can draw a 3D hologram of the entire universe, maybe someone down there is still mad at us.
I hoped that it wasn’t Chavez for 2 reasons: first, Venezuela has the 7th largest oil reserves in the world, and is rumored to have more reserves than Saudi Arabia, and Venezuela also has the 2nd largest gas deposits in the West.
Gee.. you don’t think Chavez would still be mad just because we tried to overthrow his democracy, do you?
I hope not.
Cause we’re going to need his gas and oil. Venezuela is currently our 5th largest supplier of oil, and South America could, very quickly, become our largest supplier of natural gas, because we’re running out!
Hm... we NEED Venezuela and the rest of the Americas. Hm... Bush is down there. I thought: that can’t be a good thing.
Gad. I HATE being right!! (ok, not really; I AM a guy, after all!)
Cause, you see, here’s what our buddy Bush has caused the folks to go and do:
March 13, 2007
Natural Gas Cartel Announced
Venezuela and Argentina have signed the first agreement in a planned natural gas cartel called Opegasur, which will soon include Bolivia and Brazil. The Wall Street Journal provides analysis.
Russia will advise Venezuela on the construction of a gas pipleline to connect these countries -- which is significant because Russia also has designs on forming a natural gas cartel that may include Qatar, Iran and the Asian countries of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Together they would ultimately control a natural gas version of OPEC with influence over the West.
Russia, huh? Aren't they mad at us about something? Um... the missiles going into one former satellite country and the radar going into another for our 'working' (guffaw!) missile shield? You know, I think Putin is a tad miffed.
The good new is: if you’re single (or married) and haven’t been having sex lately, WELL!!!...
Sit back, and smoke ‘em if you got ‘em, cause Bush has f***ed you (and the rest of us) royally!
