After removing over 100 tenaciously hand-stuffed extra votes (one source did all those clicks and typed in the number about every 20 seconds until they'd put in over 90 votes) the results come out with the leaders in about the same position as kos's poll. So, despite the imperfect sample of only about 200 voters, let's pretend the deeper data does tell us something about what the dailykos population thinks beyond the simple 'pick one' data.
Name | Raw Rating Summation |
John Edwards | 1360.00 |
Barack Obama | 998.00 |
Bill Richardson | 956.00 |
Al Gore | 639.00 |
Wesley Clark | 307.00 |
Russ Feingold | 184.00 |
Chris Dodd | 176.00 |
... |
Joe Biden | -9.00 |
Joe Lieberman | -10.00 |
Dennis Kucinich | -45.00 |
Mike Gravel | -170.00 |
Hillary Clinton | -207.00 |
The histogram results show about the same shape as last time. There is large and fanatical support for Edwards, large and slightly unsure support for Obama, and substantial and a bit less sure support for Richardson. The Al Gore fans again made a good showing in the write-in category, but not quite as large this month. Wesley Clark has not insubstantial support as well. Chris Dodd gets favorable ratings, but not very high. A long list of write-ins make a cameo before we get to the on-the-ballot people who get negative ratings. Joe Biden moves up to be only a little negative; Mike Gravel seems to be making more enemies than friends; Dennis Kucinich has mostly recovered from the dkos crowd's anger over last month's validation of Faux News Democratic debates; and Hillary Clinton has retaken bottem spot as most disliked major presidential candidate. She's still divisive, getting a fair number of positive ratings (not very high, but a bunch of them) but around here she's mostly not liked.
I think my favorite thing about this poll after the histograms is the 2nd choice data. If the Gore fans don't get Gore, who's their second choice? In kos's poll, they'll pick "other" and not tell us, but here we know:
