In light of the articles of impeachment being brought to the house floor by Kucinich, I thought I'd write a letter to my representative. She's a freggin rethuglican, so prolly nothing will happen, but I am going to publish it as an open letter editorial in my school newspaper.

Rep. Ros-Lehtinen,
I would like to first thank your for honorable service and dedication to the 18th district for almost two decades now.
I am writing to urge you to please support H.R. 333 when it is introduced on the floor. This bill is vital to the foundation of our democracy; if the voters cannot hold their elected officials to their oath of office, then it is the right and responsibility of the voters to remove that official. As a constituent of the 18th district, I feel it is my obligation to request that you help move this resolution forward. I, as well as many of my peers and colleagues, have long since felt the necessity for these measures.
We have known for quite some time that the premise for the invasion of Iraq was shaky at best; no WMDs were found, no nuclear program was discovered, and no connection to Al-Queda was uncovered. New information brought about by the Scooter Libby trial has shown, without a doubt, that Richard Cheney sought to manipulate intelligence to present a false rationale for invasion. This is an affront to the American people, and an affront to democracy itself.
Despite all evidence, Cheney continues to polemicize conflict and further action in the Middle East. What was once considered a principled stance against the war, is now the mandate of the people. Americans in the 18th district demand justice. You can help deliver that justice by standing up for the hundreds of thousands of human beings against Richard Cheney, whose lies have precipitated death and suffering and indignity.
I know that as a Republican, you are bound by an alligiance to your party and to your campaign financers, but I ask you to please consider the consequences. Is it passable for the people of the 18th to merely watch as their country is divided by the lies and deceits of the Bush administration? Or do we demand higher standards from our elected officials? I would request a reply, if possible.
Sincerely,
