I just got off the phone with Deb Franzen, in Tester's office. I told her how disappointed I was - she said "Jon couldn't vote for cutting funding - he's just as much against this war as you are. But he wants to bring these people back alive"
I just find that so much bs, Kos. How do you continue to fight for the reasoning of a candidate who voted the same way Burns would? Such a damn disappointment, especially for someone like me, who put heart, soul and cash into a guy who voted Nay on the Feingold amendment...just like Burns.

I actually studied ethics, took a master's in it. I really believe with Aristotle that politics can be the purest expression of morality for the 'good man'
David, I saw you at some of those Tester fundraisers. God damn it, I co-sponsored one of them. And though montanamaven, me and others have diaried this ad nauseum, I feel suckered and duped by a guy who was supposedly anti-war
This rationalization that "I can't pull the rug out from under these guys" as Baucus puts it, is so empty of meaning when they just hand over a check to the idiots in charge of this thing:

And to quote the man himself:
I am doing everything in my power as a U.S. senator to end the war in Iraq, but I will not cast any vote that I believe compromises the safety and security of our troops on the ground,’’ Tester said in a statement.
"I have said for two years that the president needs to develop a plan to get us out of Iraq,’’ Tester added. "The Congress and the American people have spoken; the president needs to start listening."
Jon, why don't you listen. Why don't you listen to people like me, who put heart, soul and money into your campaign. People like me, who have relatives (Lt. Col in the medical corps) in Baghdad.
We said Stop the War, Jon and you say here's your cash, Mr. President
And Kos, Jerome, Sirota, who all went so passionately forth for these guys, said "c'mon you netroots, let's help these guys."
Yup, that was me, right here actually voting in Montana - remember the 24 hour wait for the votes to be counted? Then Webb and Jon, our progressive anti-war guys, put the Senate in Dem hands.
You know what, Kos? If I had voted for Burns, I'd be getting exactly the same results on the war.
Way to go, guys. Next time around, instead of being charmed by these guys and breathing the thin air of the so-called "progressive" revolution, why don't you actually pick someone who can not only win, but actually votes their conscience?
