Romney was so creepy and inauthentic. It's screamingly obvious to me and everyone I know. Yet I thought it was screamingly obvious that Bush (and Reagan for that matter) were complete phonies. Look below the jump for the fawning "Romney is so presential" comments from Powerline.com
It seems republicans are complete fools and have no bullshit detector whatsoever. Man, I should put on a nice suit, super whiten my teeth and sell them some swampland.
Can someone with the right skills please do an animation with Romney as a game show host where contestants have to guess his postition on the issues - and every answer is right.
Powerline love notes to Romney below:
Romney (I don’t know a lot about him) responds really well extemporaneously. He looks genuine and not canned at all and, most importantly, conveys sincerity
Overall Romney seems to be having the smoothest presentation
I haven’t cared for romney before this, but he’s growing on me.
I’ve been a Rudy fan and haven’t seen anything to change my mind, but I agree that Romney is doing an impressive job. Huckabee also has done a nice job.
Governor Romney just knocked it out of the park with his altered nuclear transfer answer.
Romney does very well talking about his health care initiative in Massachussetts. If you didn’t already know how good Romney is, you would be really impressed by his performance tonight.
Romney’s ‘more marriages before babies’ line is really lovely. His social rhetoric is going a long way, I think, towards defusing the worries about his religion.
Romney is very smooth and confident. He’s going make some friends with his performance and answers tonight.
Romney could play the president in a movie. He’s winning outright, I think. MSM can’t wait to paint him as a kook, so he will especially be hailed as the winner tonight.
I agree that Romney looks presidential. McCain looks very American—only our country has great leaders like him. Rudy looks folksy and likeable and gave a good answer on Terri Schiavo—family disputes are the reason we have courts. Hunter has done a surprisingly effective job.
I LOVE Romney’s "The Gang of Three"—great sound bite.

Romney was the smoothest. Some might say too rehearsed, but the tone seemed right for this forum. McCain was great substantively, but very shaky. Giuliani was below average - which is what you’d expect having to answer questions that reveal his left leaning philosophy.
