The low key war with Iran continues, how many people need to be killed before it's called genocide:
House urges UN to charge Ahmadinejad
The US House of Representatives urged the UN Security Council Wednesday to charge Iran's president under genocide conventions.
The non-binding resolution, initiated by Reps. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) and Steve Rothman (D-N.J.), passed by 411-2. It cites an October 27 speech in which Mahmoud Ahmadinejad allegedly called for Israel to be "wiped off the map" and calls for the Security Council to charge him under its 1948 convention for the prevention of genocide.
Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-Ohio) attempted to read into the record alternate translations of Ahmadinejad s remarks that suggest the Iranian leader was calling Israel to come to an end through democratic means, and not through violence.

Arabs are not the only terrorists in Israel:
Under intense security, some two thousand gays and lesbians took part in the Jerusalem Gay Pride parade Thursday despite the wrath of the haredi and religious community in the city.
In total, 19 haredi protesters were arrested for various incidents in and around the capital.
Before the parade kicked off, a 32-year-old haredi resident of Mea She'arim was arrested after he was caught in possession of an improvised explosive device.

And the civil war continues into West Bank:
Gunmen on rampage in West Bank
Angered by Hamas' takeover in Gaza, Palestinian militias linked to Fatah are sowing retribution.
For much of the last week, Fatah gunmen in black masks have ruled the streets here, abducting rivals, looting or burning their property, and intimidating elected officials inside the Hamas-run City Hall.
Demoralized by Hamas' military defeat of their comrades in the Gaza Strip, the gunmen are sowing retribution across the West Bank. Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, of Fatah, said Wednesday that the lawlessness was the most pressing problem facing the emergency government he appointed Sunday in the West Bank.
"We have seen chaos here before, but this is different. The police have lost control," said Hafez Shaheen, a Hamas municipal legislator who has abandoned his City Hall office in Nablus, the largest West Bank city and epicenter of the violence. "People are afraid for their lives."

Hamas trying to free journalist by taking on splinter gangs:
Member of clan holding Johnston killed
A member of the powerful clan in Gaza City that is holding BBC correspondent Alan Johnston was shot to death Wednesday morning.
Munir Dughmush was shot while standing outside a building in Gaza City's Zaitoun neighborhood, sources in the Gaza Strip said. They said masked gunmen opened fire at him, killing him instantly.
Following the incident, foreign journalists were advised to stay away from the Gaza Strip for fear of reprisal.

Law and order has been hard to find in Gaza, clearly Abbas has failed:
Hamas began searching homes a few days ago while focusing on the above-mentioned groups and clans, in order to show the population that it is serious in its intention to succeed where the Palestinian Authority and Fatah failed – that is, end the armed anarchy and curb crime and corruption.
Yet the armed groups and clans do not intend to surrender and disarm. One of them is the Durmush clan, which has dubbed its sons and the gunmen operating in cooperation with it "Army of Islam." This clan was party to the Gilad Shalit abduction in conjunction with Hamas and the Popular Resistance Committees.
The Durmush family, the "Army of Islam," also abducted British journalist Alan Johnston. Yet when Hamas attempted to make a gesture to the international community and demanded Johnston's release, the head of the clan, Mumtaz Durmush, made it clear to them he was the boss and refused to release the British journalist.
The battle at the Erez crossing and the Durmush clan's refusal to release Johnston are a clear challenge by the armed and independent groups and clans to the Hamas rule. As things stand now, it appears that Hamas does not intend to give in. Hence, in the coming days we are likely to see the continuation of armed clashes in the Gaza Strip. These clashes can have implications for us too.

Hamas condemns Gaza church attack
The attack was the first of its kind against the tiny Christian community since Hamas took control over the Gaza Strip last week.
Hamas denied responsibility, saying the attackers were members of a local criminal gang who exploited the chaos on the streets to carry out the attack.
Father Manual Musalam, leader of the Latin community, said he received assurances from Hamas that it would provide protection for all Christians in the Gaza Strip. He added that some of the stolen property was returned to the church and school on Monday.
Father Musalam said former Hamas minister Bassem Naim phoned him to condemn the attack on behalf of the Hamas leadership.

And now Carter is blamed for Iran situation:
Father of the Iranian revolution
Carter viewed Khomeini as more of a religious holy man in a grassroots revolution than a founding father of modern terrorism. Carter's ambassador to the UN, Andrew Young, said "Khomeini will eventually be hailed as a saint." Carter's Iranian ambassador, William Sullivan, said, "Khomeini is a Gandhi-like figure." Carter adviser James Bill proclaimed in a Newsweek interview on February 12, 1979 that Khomeini was not a mad mujahid, but a man of "impeccable integrity and honesty."
The shah was terrified of Carter. He told his personal confidant, "Who knows what sort of calamity he [Carter] may unleash on the world?"
Let's look at the results of Carter's misguided liberal policies: the Islamic Revolution in Iran; the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan (Carter's response was to boycott the 1980 Moscow Olympics); the birth of Osama bin Laden's terrorist organization; the Iran-Iraq War, which cost the lives of millions dead and wounded; and yes, the present war on terrorism and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

This article is worth reading:
Something is rotten in State of Israel
Rewarding failure is becoming the prevailing norm in Israel
The events of the last week dramatically underscored how close the biting cynicism of popular humor comes to accurately describing the theater of the absurd reflected in the machinations of the ruling elites in the country. Just stop for a moment and consider the Kafkaesque scenes that have unfolded of late before the Israeli public.
