HBO is now showing The Fever" By Wallace Shawn. I haven’t seen an add about it: The Movie stars Vanessa Redgrave, Michael Moore, plays a Reporter and Angelina Jolie a Revolutionary: I did liked the film, if you get a chance its worth the 1:30 mins
WALLACE SHAWN: I'm traveling - and I wake up suddenly in the silence before dawn in a strange hotel room, in a poor country where my language isn't spoken, and I'm shaking and shivering. - Why? There's something - something is happening - far away in a different country. Oh, yes, I remember. It's the execution. The newspaper article said this would be the hour; this was the date.
I catch my breath. And so now they come - they come for the man who lies on his cot, the cat-like man whose face is so large, so black, that the guards who open his cell are once again frightened, shaken. They shave his head, a section of his leg, so the electrodes will fit closely on the skin..

In terms of ethnicity, about 65 percent of victims were Bosnian Muslims, 25 percent Serbs and over 8 percent Croats, said the study, which is financed by the Norwegian government.

and it all came back to me...
War had come to Sarajevo: the once Magnificent City, laid low. It seemed imposable to believe that not even 10 years had passed: The home of the 1984 Winter Olympic Games had turned to ruin- a place were a fresh egg was something worth fighting for...
He came to me damaged, scared yet somehow unbroken. I fell into him: His calloused hands could not hide his beautiful cellists fingers... I had stop staying at my hotel, months ago. His flat, felt more and more like home.
It is so cold in Sarajevo... he had taken up the habit of burning books for the warmth: valuable books, reduced to kindling...
G-d it was dark that night, snow quit... he picked up an old soft leather bound book but instead of the tear, I had become accustom to, he opened it. Flipping through the thin translucent paper... With his deep lyrical voice he stated... "I shall read you to sleep" ~
I was laughing because we both knew I never slept.
The sniper must have seen movement between the candle and the window... he died not long after his body fell gracefully to the floor... I did not let myself cry, we both knew the truth of it. No one was safe in Sarajevo...
I have never told that story, nor did I write it down before today. I still have that book, once it even saved my life~ but that is a different story ©
