The Dallas Morning News is reporting that the Clinton campaign is challenging Obama delegates to Saturday's Senate District (SD) Conventions in Dallas County (which went about 70-30 Obama IIRC).
In particular, she is focusing on SD23. This senate district is in heavily African-American South Dallas, and it went roughly 80-20 for Obama. There is a distinct possibility that she may not meet 15% viability in that district, which will send 6 of North Texas' 26 delegates to the state convention.
From the Dallas Morning News:
Just before Wednesday’s deadline to file complaints before the county convention credentials committee, Clinton campaign officials delivered a large packet of challenges.
"There are numerous challenges," said Dallas County District Clerk Gary Fitzsimmons, who is temporary chairman of the District 23 credentials committee. The district went solidly for Mr. Obama in the primary, and there’s a question over whether Mrs. Clinton will reach the 15 percent threshold needed to receive delegates. [...]
Mr. Fitzsimmons said he knew the challenges were from the Clinton campaign because aides walked them over to the Dallas County Democratic Party office, which is across the street from the Clinton campaign's Dallas outpost.
This comes a day after the Clinton campaign pledged to not try to influence the district conventions with mass challenges.
There are no reports of similar moves from the Obama campaign.
