Not sure how many caught the Dean 25 could decide Clinton's fate article at Politico.
Here's the summary:
If, as Hillary Rodham Clinton has suggested, her campaign takes the fight to seat the Florida and Michigan delegations all the way to the Democratic National Convention this summer, the fate of her challenge is all but certain to hinge on 25 individuals appointed to the Credentials Committee by party Chairman Howard Dean
The article goes on to profile the 25, but never does a summary. So I thought I'd go ahead and add that much.
I realize a lot of us feel completely drained by even the thought of still fighting this one out months from now, and having anything hinge on the seating of Florida and Michigan delegates. That's just a nightmare scenerio to me.
I believe this thing will be over by June at the latest, but in the event that I'm wrong and Florida and Michigan become true deciding factors, here's the summary of "hints" from Politico of the 25 members Dean selected to sit on the credentionals committee.
Likely to side with Clinton based on the following hints:
1 A Clinton superdelegate who, according to ABC News, advised Clinton to push strategist Mark Penn out
2 Donated at least $2,000 to Clinton
3 A pro-Clinton superdelegate, she has donated $4,600 to her campaign.
4 Donated $4,600 to Clinton.
5 Donated $1,375 to the Clinton campaign.
6 Donated $2,300 to the Clinton campaign, "but I’m not declaring support for her over Obama in this credentials process." Says family members have given to Obama. Refers to herself as "a Howard Dean person."
7 Hosted a fundraiser for Clinton in Missoula. "She’s been my choice since the beginning," Juneau told the Helena Independent Record last week. "She has a strong Native American platform."
8 She’s a pledged delegate for Clinton from New York’s 21st congressional district.
Likely to side with Obama based on the following hints:
1 Endorsed Obama
2 Donated $500 to Barack Obama
3 Endorsed Obama.
4 Donated $4,600 to Obama.
5 Donated to both of Clinton’s senatorial campaigns but told Politico in February she was supporting Obama
6 Says she supports Obama. Father is an Obama-supporting superdelegate
7 Endorsed Obama. Former Bill Richardson supporter.
8 Helped launch Vermont Women for Obama in February.
9 Donated $4,400 to Obama in 2007.
10 Donated $2,300 to Obama.
The following either show no preference or mixed preference:
1 No candidate preference given
2 No candidate preference given
3 No candidate preference given
4 No candidate preference given
5 No candidate preference given
6 His boss is an Obama superdelegate, but Rogan is undecided.
7 Dawson has given $1,250 to the Obama campaign and $450 to the Clinton campaign. Says he "believes very much in [Dean’s] 50-state strategy
For this latter group, even if you assume 4 for Clinton and 3 for Obama (worst case scenerio for Obama, and not necessarily likely based on current trends with voters, supers, states, polls, and every other measure), he still holds a 13 majority.
