Winthrop farmer Richard Machacek, an Iowa superdelegate, said today he is pledging to support Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.
Machacek, a member of the Democratic National Committee, had been uncommitted. He said he saw little difference between Obama and New York Sen. Hillary Clinton on policy positions or ability.
Machacek, a Buchanan County Democrat also on the party's state central committee, said Obama's performance at Saturday's Democratic district conventions in Iowa tipped the balance in his favor.
This is delegate number two, today for Obama.
Again, what is going on now is for the superdelegates to witness and decide.
Many do not like the MSMs take on Reverend Jeremiah Wright, and point taken, but now the focus is watching the turn on this. Now the media is asking, "Why is Wright turning on Obama?" Let them try to figure it out. Let us keep going.
It is now our turn to move on. Wright will always be a factor, but he will not be THE factor in November, not when folks are paying over 4 bucks a gallon for gas.
The American public just may do something here. They may shock the MSM, and not buy their bullshit and stand with Obama.
Many on this board thought after the McClurkin episode that Obama was doomed. We saw what happened with that one.
We continue to work hard to win in Indiana and North Carolina.
And believe me folks are tired of this:
"I think it needs to be over, and in good conscience, I can't fly in the face of my precinct, county and district," Machacek told The Des Moines Register in a telephone interview. "The raw numbers coming out of the district conventions really sat me down hard."
Time to volunteer, phonebank and donate.
Do it for Indiana, here.
Do it for North Carolina, here.
Donate here.
Peace.
