It's over! I tried very hard to be a good "partner" to you but you insist on hanging out with your former "lover", Fisa, and making me look like a fool. Sure, Fisa might be rich from all the money the Telco's gave and might even be "good looking". But, I've been loyal and faithful for decades and you dom't seem to respect and appreciate that. So, I'm demanding a divorce. Finally
Dear DNC,
Our relationship goes back to the late 60's and early seventies. I've voted Democrat every election except for that one in 1976 when I "strayed" and voted for Jerry Ford over Jimmy Carter. But I thought we got past that and you know I've been faithful for all the years since then.
Now we come to this FISA thing and you know my feelings about it. You know I took a hardline with this issue. You know it hurt me personally to think that you "dallied" with this before and I thought that was behind us too. I took you at your word about how you would never hang with the Repugnicans and especially FISA and Telco Immunity.
But, now I find you've been courting behind my back and you've obviously made some significant plans about getting together in the future with this group. It's disgusting and horribly embarassing.
I told you last January that I wouldn't put up with anymore FISA "carrying on". I told you I wouldn't support you in that and I would withdraw my financial support if you continued.
I now hear from very reliable sources that you're still carrying on and... yes, I will finally say it: I want a Divorce! You've gone over the line. We can't continue this relationship any further.
I will give you once last chance before I formally terminate this relationship, however. If you renounce FISA and especially it's Immunity for Telco's and the Bush Regime, I will reconsider. But if you insist on Immunity, it's absolutely over. I will no longer support you in any way, shape, or manner. I promise.
Yes, this means "cutting my nose off to spite my face". But on this issue, I've got to take a stand. You have to take a stand too. No matter how much money the Telco's give you, it's not worth tearing up what's left of the Constitution. I can't support that and I can't support a party that participates in that.
If Telco's and the Bush Regime get immunity, our relationship gets the axe. I will vote Libertarian and encourage others to do so too. Perhaps the Democrats will lose the election. If they supporr Immunity, they don't support what I believe it and the deserve to lose.
