Today's Rasmussen daily tracking poll shows Obama with a 5% lead over McCain, 46 to 41. The lead remains at 5%, 49 to 44, when leaners are included.
This represents the first time since July 8 that Obama has led by 5% and that he has reached the 49% level of support. He is also now viewed more favorably than McCain by a 1% margin.

Today's Rasmussen Report also reprints yesterday's essay by Larry Sabato's Crystal Ball, entitled "The Myth Of A Toss-Up Election," in which Sabato and associates conclude that, notwithstanding talk of a close race in the media, Obama has a clear lead and is the strong favorite to become our next President.
