A brief rundown of the story that you may not have read in the MSM.
Almost all links will probably be considered "not work safe" by many readers and probably blocked by work filters because, as we all know, gay = porno.
The story begins with an article in OUT magazine about the very popular gay male hook up site Manhunt (believe me, you probably don’t want to click on that )
While reporting on Has Manhunt Destroyed Gay Culture? the article mentioned that the wealthy founder and Chairman of the board Jonathan Crutchley had contributed to the McCain campaign and was a supporter.
There was immediate outrage on many gay sites, in particular Towleroad and Crutchley replied
I believe McCain will be a better commander-in-chief than Obama, who also opposes gay marriage. If we have an experienced, seasoned person defending the country in this dangerous age, we will be able to argue about the gay agenda later.

(That’s right, he didn’t even put quotes around "gay agenda" - nothing like a Log Cabin Repub)
Well it appears that the protests were affecting Manhunt’s bottom line (heh) and Crutchley has been asked to step down as chairman
***STATEMENT from LARRY BASILE
...
"It should be known that Jonathan Crutchley's donation to McCain left the entire Board in disbelief. I am disappointed that we have lost some customers, and I understand the anger. It is too bad for the web site if we lose customers, but PLEASE never refer to me as a Republican. I consider it an offense.
"Earlier today, at the request of the Board, Jonathan has stepped down as Chairman. Sincerely, Larry Basile."
(Full statement here)
I don’t really expect for this to be the end of this kerfuffle since we have yet to see Huckabee demanding that McCain return the campaign contibutions.
Many thanks to Towleroad.
