Would you believe it's not Obama?
CNN is running an 'exclusive interview' with Vladimir Putin in which he says the US encouraged Georgia to attack South Ossetia in order to benefit someone running for President. The key part of the article:
Putin told CNN his defense officials had told him it was done to benefit a presidential candidate -- Republican John McCain and Democrat Barack Obama are competing to succeed George W. Bush -- although he presented no evidence to back it up.
Putin also says that he was disappointed Pres. Bush didn't do more to stop Georgia from attacking Russian peacekeepers in South Ossetia.
Now, Rovian logic may bring you to the conclusion that CNN leaves as a possible outcome: someone in Obama's campaign encouraged Georgia to attack Russians in order to make Bush/McCain look bad and thereby bolster his campaign.
OR, could it be that someone running for office that has a top adviser who is also a lobbyist for Georgia may find that he could look more presidential if there was another excuse for America to bomb something?
