Dear Mr. Norm Coleman
I saw your new ad last weekend, the one in which you used a young girl to tell stories about Al Franken, about how he "doesn't pay withholding taxes and Workers' Comp." and the like. Stories you know are not true. Not stretched points, not embellishments, just untrue. Lies.
I know that you are a career politician and I suppose you feel it’s your duty to lie. I know that you are busy and often have to hire actors to lie for you. But Mr. Coleman, using a little girl to tell your lies? That is just creepy.
Minnesotans are decent, honest people. We believe that our children should be nurtured and protected. We work hard to teach our children what is right, to be good people, good citizens.
We want to teach our children that honesty and integrity are virtues, not weaknesses.
Mr. Coleman, you should be ashamed of yourself.
