Yesterday I received a personal letter from James Carville asking me to donate to the DSCC. I scribbled a note about my personal distaste for Carville on the donation card and returned it using the pre-stamped envelope. My guilt about putting the DSCC out $0.35 was outweighed by the thought that if enough of us respond this way, at least they will remove Carville from their letterhead.
I have always found Carville a bit repulsive. The real turn off for me was those so called "debates" he had with his winger wife, Mary Matalin. Since then, any time I see him spouting his "expert" commentary, I turn the station as fast as I can. I am amazed that some genius PR guy at the DSCC thinks his personal appeal is somehow going to convince me to send them money. I actually do feel guilty about wasting $0.35 of DSCC money that no doubt would be used for many good causes. However, this guilt was overcome by the thought that if enough us respond this way, we will be doing the DSCC a favor in long run
