I am an Obama supporter.
I do not like the perception that we as Obama supporters seem to exude on DKOS. I am fairly new and I have read many comments from other Kossacks that would suggest that we are insensitive to the supporters of other candidates.
That is not what being an Obama supporter is about.
If you are an Obama supporter and you are engaging in negative support and destructive discourse: please stop!
You are hurting our candidate.
I support Obama because of his message of unity and hope. No where in that message does it call for tearing down our fellow democrats. The truth is the light and the light shall set us all free.
Remember what brought you to Obama and try with all your might to share his vision of positivity and bring more into the fold with wine instead of vinegar. When you talk of his campaign you are representing his candidacy, you are apart of the movement. Do it with grace and humility. That is the way I view Obama, and if you are a supporter than I hope you share the same view.
The movement that we all are apart of is bigger than you and I--its bigger than all of us. And with that sacred, hollowed responsibility you carry with you the light and you are the sole the beacon.
Do not squander an opportunity on a future or potential supporter by spewing venom and vile on their core beliefs and why they support a candidate other than ours.
I implore you to approach this political discourse in the same way that Obama would. He is trying to run an upstanding campaign built on the tenets of honesty, integrity, and unity. And we as supporters have the responsibility to represent him with the same accord.
