When I took those polls to see which candidate’s positions most correlated with mine, Dennis Kucinich was always the winner. But even with his great look wife (I apologize for that sexist comment), I realized he wasn’t going to be a contender.
When Edwards started his populist talk, I switched to him. I stayed with Edwards to the end. Even after he dropped out, I was planning to vote for him in my State’s primary. Obama was my second choice, largely because he seemed fresh and I really had very negative vibes toward Clinton. While I did not vote for Clinton’s Republican opponents, I did not vote either time for Bill Clinton. I considered the Clintons too conservative and too beholden to BIG business.
While I’ve watched parts of all debates - Republican and Democrat, tonight I watched every minute of the Obama-Clinton debate.
I know what the polls say - McCain is leading both Clinton and Obama. I even believed those polls. But from what I’ve seen recently, the polls are wrong - way wrong!
McCain is not a good debater and he does not have the issues on his side. From what I saw tonight, either Obama or Clinton will kick his ass BIG time.
Neither candidate sucker punched the other nor hit below the belt. They were not only civil but supportive of each other. They kept the focus on the prize - replacing the Republicans who are destroying this country. They did a great job of getting out the Party’s message and showing the great gulf between Democrats and Republicans.
Democrats should be proud to support either Clinton or Obama.
