Enough’s enough
the diarist said.
I miss my friends,
the laughs, the puns.
We’re way too heavy,
sad and fightful.
Give us back our
wit and wits. Do
write a line or two
and make us bright,
shining, top of the game.
(Alas, I have no shame.)
I miss the poetry diaries. So put on your thinking caps and give us some spur-of-the-moment poetry – or something from your favorites. Keep it short though and remember the copyright rules.
Politics is good. I offer you a sampling of Calvin Trillin from his book "A Heckuva Job: More of the Bush Administration in Rhyme"
Pentagon Secretly Paying to Place Articles in Iraqi Newspapers: Another Lesson in Democracy

It’s great to have a press that’s free,
But better if it’s bought and paid for.
