A poll published today in the Reno Gazette Journal reflects polling done Oct. 3 - 6 in Nevada. Of 600 voters surveyed statewide, voters preferred Obama 50% to 43%, with MoE = 4%. :) :) Only 4% of voters indicated that they were still undecided. This in a battleground state!
In the past week, we've had Barack Obama here in Reno. John McCain cancelled a trip to Reno. And Dick Cheney frightened away potential McCain supporters, with an unwelcome visit to town. Things are looking good for Team Hope in Nevada. The "StraightTalk Express" has a flat tire, my friends.
The poll is described at the RGJ here. Keep in mind that this was done shortly after Palin's latest embarrassment, and before the 2nd "debate" between Obama and McCain.
Some juicy tidbits:
Today's poll is the first public survey in which Obama has posted a lead outside of the margin of error. According to the numbers, he's held on to his lead with women voters in Nevada and, for the first time since the RGJ started polling, has taken the lead from McCain among independent voters.
I just hope that some of the good will slides down the ticket to Jill Derby.
I'd like to conclude with my favorite clip of Mr. Obama. I've seen him talk in person twice. Yes, I'm FIRED UP: READY TO GO!
