Obviously, it's pretty clear that he's a conservative based on this interview. Republicans tend to bring in plants when they are in deep trouble. Remember Rocky Vaccarella, the "FEMA victim?"
But is there anything else to Joe the Plumber???
The man has a last name, Wurzelbacher. Not a common last name. 162 results in a White Pages search in the United States, nearly all in Western Ohio (where he lives)
The most well-known Wurzelbacher, was R.M. Wurzelbacher, connected to Charles Keating.
From the
New York Times archives, 1992:
A son-in-law of Charles H. Keating Jr. pleaded guilty today to three Federal fraud counts in connection with the collapse of the Lincoln Savings and Loan Assocation and agreed to cooperate with prosecutors as they pursue their case against Mr. Keating.

.
The guilty plea today was from Robert M. Wurzelbacher Jr., who had been a senior vice president of Lincoln's parent company, the American Continental Corporation of Phoenix, and the chief executive of an investment firm owned by Lincoln Savings. Mr. Wurzelbacher, who is 38 years old, is married to the former Elizabeth Keating, one of Mr. Keating's daughters.
Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch, but it nevertheless seems like a real possibility that they're relatively closely related (R.M. Wurzelbacher and "Joe the Plumber").
That is, given the extremely erratic campaign they've been running, I would not put it past them.
Frankly, it's genius in comparison to "I'll suspend my campaign"
Again, not making accusations, but I'd like to see the media check Joe out more closely
