WASHINGTON, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced the recall of Special Kitty-brand gourmet blend dry cat food due to potential salmonella contamination. http://www.upi.com/...
There are few things worse than losing a family pet since for many of us they are they only family we have to greet us in the morning or when we come home from work.
I don't have much to add to this I just wanted the info to get out as soon as possible. There are thousands of Pootie Owners here at dkos as reflected by the numerous diaries posted about Pooties and other such nicknames. Here is a lis of some of the symptoms, but not all of them. Please read the entire release.
Pets with salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain.
The Wal-Mart brand food is popular among those of us who live on a fixed budget. I personally feed my Cats the Purina brand made for indoor kittys and even my pickiest cat has been pleased with it. It's close in price and also available at my local Wal-Mart and may be at your local Wal-Mart or grocery store. Both Vons and Albertsons Grocery Stores carry it on the West Coast.
I hope this reaches as many kossacks as possible. Please copy and email to all you cat loving friends so we can keep as many of our furry friends from harm. Best of luck from my furry friends here at home, Houdini and Abbie.
