Every time I see Barack and Michelle photographed together in public, it warms my heart. We have a real opportunity to not only have a great President but a great First Family. They remind me of my parents. Up until the last breath my father drew on Feb. 12, 2004 my parents had a relationship filled with love and respect. I remember my mother telling me a couple of years before my dad died there were times that she just wanted to get a hotel room with my dad and get away from us kids. I wasn’t offended but touched. They were just 6 days short of their 25th anniversary when he passed away and to this day my mother remains single and very much in love with my dad. I know it wasn’t always easy and there were times when I’m sure they got on each other’s nerves but at their core they were best friends. They are my role models when it comes to relationships and my dad has set a standard I have yet to match in looking for a mate. I used to sometimes wonder if he was one of kind until the Obama's introduced their family with the world.
Here are some of my favorite photos that I have been collecting all election season long. Feel free to add any that I may have missed.

Barack and Michelle can serve as a model couple and the standard that all Americans should look to when searching for that special life partner, regardless of sexual orientation. Love, respect and friendship is the foundation of any strong relationship and I applaud the grace and civility they have brought to this election season and thank them for letting us take a peek at what will probably go down as one of America’s greatest love affair.
