Okay, I know that's not a diary. (Though I think the idea does reflect - snarkily - a certain reality of what may be left in the tatters of the American conservative movement.)
On a slightly more serious note:
Obama leads McCain 54%-32% in Domino's Pizza's online tracker poll today!
Note that the McCain preference of 32% exactly matches Republican self-identification, but that Obama preference of 54% picks up a good portion of the "Other" voter category.
I found some articles about the poll:
Pizza Marketplace, on Oct 8:
"The first thing that jumped out at us is that Republicans are not as conservative with their spending as we would have thought," said Chris McGlothlin, Domino's chief information officer.
"Republicans spend more per order, and pay more by credit card," he said. "And, Republicans pick up their orders more often than Democrats do. Democrats love delivery service, have more diverse orders, and are more likely to pay with cash. Undecided voters - well, they fall in the middle of almost every category we studied, which shouldn't be surprising."
And last week's report from the same site.
I can't figure out how to take the poll without actually ordering something, but if you DO order, I highly recommend the survey experience. It concludes with an interactive national map so you can look at "today's" results (favorite sandwich, favorite candidate) by state.
Of course the MOE is astronomical, and results are subject to all the caveats of self-selected, online surveys, but great fun and smart merchandising.
Once you're full of pizza, get out there and phone and knock!
