OK, Not really, but if we keep that in mind, and fight for every vote over the next six days, it might just actually be:
BREAKING: Obama WINS EVERY STATE!!!!!
And wouldn't that be a thing of beauty?
This election has been a very interesting one for me. I have never seen so much activism around politics. Oh Sure, I usually run into a couple people canvassing, or some people who have yard signs, but this year I have been approached by several friends to be active in several different things.
I have been part of a group working with our school district to make the district more open to parent input. That group has introduced me to people very active in the community. I was invited to a VP Debate party at a local bar. The entire place was filled with Democrats. We had drinking games, pictures with the Obama cutout, and all sorts of other fun.
I was at a birthday party over the weekend, one of the moms there asked if I would be interested in going to the neighboring state to canvas for Obama. I (unfortunately can't due to prior commitments,) was shocked at this.
Many of the people I have been hanging around, both at work and at play are staunch democratic supporters. Now, of course, i suspect some are fair weather supporters, but that is OK. Maybe eight years of Obama may sway them towards a 2016 Democratic president. Hmmmm, Feingold anyone?
While I am not sure a permanent majority will ever happen, I do think that for the time, having a democratic congress to support a democratic president will go a long way towards righting the wrongs of the past 8 years. I expect and hope that our standing in the world will come back, our middle class gets a reduced burden to bear, healthcare becomes truly a right, and the environment continues to get better with the reversing of some of the horrible environmental rules now in effect. I hope that alternative energy creates a new energy economy to help replace and enhance the terrible economic pressures we are under now.
Yes, I want more people to see the light. I want all the divisive rhetoric to be ended, so we can truly become
One nation... indivisible, with Liberty and justice for all.
Updated: Just because of the title, you get ugly? Wow.
