This is really more of a question than a diary, but I have a feeling I may not be the only one with a similar question, and I would have no idea where to put it as a comment.
I am longing to take my two kids to an Obama rally before the election. I'll have to make somewhat advance plans, since a) they're small kids and we move a bit more slowly, and b) he ain't coming to New Jersey, so we'll be venturing to PA.
So my question is: is there any source for advance word on when and where the candidates will be? I keep hearing about these things too late!
I know these schedules are often not set that far in advance, but even if I knew a day or two ahead of time, we might be able to go. I only heard about last week's Abington rally as it was actually taking place, unfortunately. So I would love tips as to the best source(s) to find out when Obama might be coming within driving distance of NJ next. Should I call Obama HQ in Philadelphia?
My kids are only 2 1/2 and 7 months, so they probably won't remember this. But my daughter yells "OBAMA!" when asked who we're voting for, and we play spot the Obama yard signs while driving around town. She always asks to see Obama when the TV is on, and with no coaching from me, when she saw McCain, declared "I don't like that man."
Someday, when they're grown up and the battles we've fought to get to this remarkable place are a part of history, I want them both to be able to say "I was there" as history was made. Any tips on how I can make that happen?
