but not for any of the crazies.
Bob Kelleherhttp://www.bobkelleher2008.com/, as many of you know, somehow won the Republican primary. I've met Bob Kelleher...I don't know Bob Kelleher. Bob Kelleher is not my friend. Bob Kelleher, sir, is no Max Baucus.
But he is a little nutty.
Not much to say here except, I love Montana. I moved here 10 years ago and except for the first 18 months when I ate scenery to survive on my Montana wages, I've never regretted it.
The County Courthouse election room was full, 8 tables, with one voter each getting verified before getting a ballot. Because the GOP registration challenge http://www.kpax.com/... is effectively dead, I thought I'd see how things were going in my liberal corner of this supposedly red state.
So, at just a few minutes before 4pm, like I said, a full complement of young people, plus a few of us older ones.
I can't help but think that this is just the best news for Obama. I asked the woman who verified me if it had been busy since polls opened for early voting (Monday) and she said 'very busy and that's a good thing.'
It's funny to see Ron Paul's name at the top of the ballot. This being Montana, I'm sure that he will get a fairly respectable percentage.
Then I filled in the circle to vote for the first African American candidate in a presidential election.
Like I said, lots of young people in there. A whole group of them were waiting outside, with their "I Voted" stickers, waiting for their friends to finish up. All smiling.
What a great day.
