In a continuation of the Right’s failure to heed the take home message voters sent on November 4, Palin issued the following Bin Ladenesque threat:
"I'm like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I'm like, don't let me miss the open door," Palin said in an interview with Fox News on Monday. "And if there is an open door in '12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I'll plow through that door."
Inshallah, Sarah Palin will hear the call to run again. And maybe she’ll be on a conference call with G-d and Dubya when she does.
If, in 2012, she still enjoys the support of the 25% of the American population who would still like to have a beer with the current President, she could probably clinch the Republican nomination by employing the currently defunct Southern Strategy.
Sarah Palin vehemently denies being a drag on the 2008 GOP ticket, and, hopefully, the wingnut echo chamber will continue to feed this delusion. The best gift the GOP could give us is a second effort by Palin in 2012, complete with all the tone deafness and tired antics that doomed her in 2008. The end result, of course, will be a second term for President Obama and some heartfelt gratitude for Sarah (and G-d) from yours truly.
