Also, I wrote about this speech in my diary on Friday. Well here is the footage of Zell Miller's remarks in favor of Saxby Chambliss
Jim needs any help he can get. I just got a call from the Jim Martin campaign asking if I could give a little more. I told them I'm going to reach my goal of $3,500 (higher with your help). Can you help me with $5, $10 or whatever you can afford?
An interesting tidbit from the AJC article where I got this video
Miller also accused Democrat Jim Martin of being the first state lawmaker to speak against a $100 million tax cut that Miller proposed as governor. But he made no mention of the fact that, as lieutenant governor, Miller joined Martin in support of a statewide sales tax increase in 1989. The Chambliss campaign has been hammering Martin on that one.
Also, Saxby Chambliss estimates that the DSCC will outspend the Republicans in this race. However, that is laughable as Martin's camp believes that Chambliss will spend about $10 million in the runoff
"His [Chambliss’] side alone could spend more than $10 million," said Martin spokesman Matt Canter in an interview. "You’re not going to see that kind of spending on our side."
So as you can see, the Republicans are going to do everything they can to hold on to this seat. They've pulled in John McCain and pulled out Zell Miller from his mountain hideout. We've got to come together and get rid of Saxby. We've been great at winning runoffs and special elections over the past couple of years. Let's add another notch to our belt. This one is very important in order to pass progressive legislation. Do we want a roadblock in the Senate like Saxby Chambliss for the next six years? Or do we want a progressive ally in the Senate?
Update: Miller said he would not Support Clinton or Obama for President and made no remarks concerning their win. Miller since leaving the Senate has appeared at Evangelical Conservative events featurng such speakers as Tony Perkins and James Dobson.
Don't wake up on Dec 3 and say I wish I would have given more.
