Lieberman survived. So what. I'm sure this won't be a popular diary and I'll most probably be skewered by my fellow Kossacks, but I could give three craps. We're acting like spoiled brats.
We demand retribution and when we don't get it, we go on the attack like a special interest group.
I read a comment that called Obama a fool. WTF?
We just won back the White House We get to set the agenda. Yet, the most important thing for some isn't the agenda. It's get Joe Lieberman. Hello?
I'm not a Joe Lieberman fan. Never have been, but I'm also a realist. Howard Dean has it right.
We should all take a breath and remember it's time to govern differently.

"You know, the desire of revenge is great, of course. But the truth is public policy doesn't run on revenge very well," he said. "And when you see the trouble this country has gotten into in terms of foreign policy, where Bush basically ran a foreign policy based on petulance because he was mad at, for example, Mexico, for abstaining on the Security Council when the Iraq War came up, if you have to actually run the country, it is best not to do it based on feeling of anger towards your enemies."
"My point of view is that Barack won," Dean said. "He can afford to be magnanimous. And if we happen to win both recounts and Georgia, Joe is the 60th vote. And the truth is -- and I certainly don't have to defend Joe Lieberman because, you know, we have an interesting history -- but the fact is, he does vote 90 percent of the time with the Democrats. And no, he shouldn't have said all those things. But why not clean the slate? Why not start all over again? Why not allow him to vote with us on the 90 percent of the stuff? He will be a good vote on climate change -- and this matters. He may be a good vote on election reform, which I hope we will get to. So, you know, he may end up - though it is a little against the odds -- he may end up being the vote that allows us to conduct business when Mitch McConnell decides we shouldn't."
Update: Thank you all for the recommend list. I apologize if I came on a little strong in my diary. As I was reading comments earlier today, I was getting a little upset. There are many diverse points of view on this issue. I respect them all. I don't particularly like Joe Lieberman and I definitely do not like what he did during the campaign, but I'm choosing to side with Barack Obama's thinking on this issue. I remember when many said he should go on the attack during the primaries and then the GE and he didn't. I trust his judgment. It's one of the reasons I voted for him. Thank you.
Update 2: I woke up this morning and my diary is still on the recommend list. I'm heartened that many kossacks out there feel the way I do. I respect my fellow kossacks who disagree with me. I love this community. If we remember anything from the last few years, Americans are sick of slash and burn politics. I'm on board with the President Elect's vision on how we should conduct political business. The majority of Americans want answers to their problems now. They aren't concerned about Lieberman. We voted for change and we can make it happen. We can change right wing policies that have crippled our country. It's time to leave the divisive politics of the past behind. Again, it's why I voted for Barack. Thank you for all your comments.
