Here's some good news as we head into Election Day:
According to an update on the San Diego County Registrar of Voter's web site today, San Diego County has more Democrats than Republicans.

The official count:
Democrats: 547,148
Republicans: 543,856
Nonpartisan: 350,808
As with so many areas around the country, we've had an organized and aggressive voter registration effort here in San Diego. We have been outregistering Republicans about 10-1 since the primary season, and all the hard work has paid off.
Our local party has been organizing and building the last couple of years. In addition to our impressive voter registration numbers, we have built a solid precinct organization. The Grassroots Organizing Team (GO Team) is our county-wide program for organizing at the precinct level. We now have around 800 neighborhood precinct organizers getting out the vote for our Democratic slate.
What does this mean?
It means we'll be mobilizing Democratic and Nonpartisan voters not only for Barack Obama, but for No on 8 (which is officially endorsed by our state and county party) and a whole herd of terrific local candidates and ballot measures.
I would love to write more right now, but I'm in the midst of printing precinct lists and preparing for GOTV tomorrow.
Just wanted to share the good news.
