Let me state that I did not support you but always respected most of your positions. I also understand that in hind sight we won this election because you made our next president a better candidate. You made him and his team get better and you provided the long primary that gave us the opportunity to build Howard Deans fifty state vision in our primary. In the end you worked for all of us even those that said No to your own dreams.
Your tireless campaigning help swing states that we needed to give us the opportunity to move forward as a party a country and people. I cannot say more in the face of great joy that I have had tonight as an American and a democratic party member. After this long campaign some might see it as the end but it is only the end of the beginning. Our country needs more leaders like you. In campaigns we have seen bring out the hounds and long knifes. Some critisms are diserved and others are not by many canidates. In the end you are a jewel in the democratic party. Even when we disagree I have to say Madam senator you have earned my respect and in hindsight helped us win the white house.
Thank you

Hillary Clinton Calls Obama to Offer Congratulations
By Anne E. Kornblut
Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton called Sen. Barack Obama at around 11:30 p.m., offering her congratulations and her condolences on the loss of his grandmother, a Clinton spokesman said. Obama thanked her for her help, and said he looked forward to speaking to her and her husband soon.
Clinton was among the first to release a statement upon Obama's victory.
"Tonight, we are celebrating an historic victory for the American people. This was a long and hard fought campaign but the result was well worth the wait," she said.
