I keep getting messages on my answering machine from somebody who claims to be "Kevin Clarkson from the loan modification department", saying in somber and official tones that his outfit can "modify your loan terms" and "reduce your loan payments and loan balance without having to refinance." "He" then gives me a 1-800 number to call.
Well, I'm here to say the whole thing is not only total B.S., it's also got to be a scam to fleece yet more $$ off desperate homeloaners who are about to get foreclosed upon. How do I know it's a scam?
I know it has to be a scam because I have never had a mortgage in my life. In fact, I am currently renting two rooms in a house! This is obviously phone spam.
Others across the country have been getting calls from this outfit, too. The same call has been reported on 800Notes, on another page as having used a (603) callback number, and also on EveryCall, for having called people in Florida!
I wonder if the FBI knows about these guys.
