That's all I really wanted to write to many here who care about democracy and deal with democratic politics. Obviously, this website has changed. I am not one of the more popular commenters so my absence here is not going to be missed.
I have no words of wisdom, no advise as I say goodbye. I just wanted to say thank you to those who had discourse with me, pro and con. I may pop in from time to time to lurk, but it's time.
I do believe that there are issues that are so important that many here do not think about much. To me, Darfur and many of the issues surrounding Africa is more important than what I consider personal or social based issues. I do not condemn those who think other, more local issues to be more important to write about. I just feel the need to read more about the issues I am more concerned with, Africa, music and sports are what interest me more now. That's not to say issues like what is being debated today are not important, they are, but I realize the more I read certain topics, and the anger and animosity in evidence here, the more the diaries and comments about them keep pushing me away. We all make assumptions when we interact with each other here. One thing I do appreciate is there are people with incredible talent that write here. I am impressed with the passion displayed germane to many topics discussed. However, the anger is not something I wish to be part of anymore.
Call it what you want, GBCW or troll, or whatever. I can only control what's in my sphere of influence, which is not much. I would have just stopped without a whimper, but I did want to say thank you to those I sparred and agreed with.
