The windbags in the traditional media are at it again.
Now, supporters of Senator Obama are members of a cult of personality. "The Obama campaign all too often is about how wonderful the Obama campaign is." - Joe F'ing Klein I've had it with this crap. I say we stand up before the Senator gets the Dean treatment. Letter to time magazine after the flip.
The following is a letter I wrote to Time magazine.
Dear editor,
Based on the misinformation Mr. Klein so graciously provided in Thursday's column regarding the cult-like status of Senator Obama's campaign for the presidency, I'd venture that Mr. Klein, "[has] neither the time nor legal background to figure out who's right..." about the true nature of the Senator's campaign. I know it must be difficult for such a frequent attendee of the D.C. cocktail circuit to distinguish true inspiration from standard Washington bloviating, but perhaps if he were to actually pay attention to Senator Obama's message before criticizing it, he might understand the disservice he has done to the Senator and his supporters.
I fail to see how "Yes WE can" is all about Senator Obama. In fact, it is just the opposite, and the Senator has said so point blank. For example, when Governor Tim Kaine of VA endorsed the Senator in December, Senator Obama said, in his press release, ""This campaign is not about me, it is about the hundreds of volunteers across Virginia who gathered signatures, and the millions of people across this country who deserve a voice in the White House," This is what is attractive about the Senator's campaign, and this is why he is so popular amongst the formerly disaffected. The same is and was true of Dr. Howard Dean. When ordinary people believe that they may indeed have a role to play in the shared-governance of our democracy, that's when they pay attention. Mr. Klein failed to recognize this in 2004, when he methodically savaged Dr. Dean's campaign, and he appears poised to do so once again. May the rest of us be wise enough not to fall for it again.
Very truly yours,
[Graff4Dean], Pasadena, CA
We will not stand for this. Here again is the link to the crooksandliars.com article that lays the smear authors out in one place. Don't let 'em get away with it!
