As we all know one of the reasons why Obama thinks Hillary Clinton can't unite the country or be effective at building any bipartisan consensus for change is because she's been attacked too much by Republicans. With, in his view, unfair attacks.
Most recently, Obama has said:

"Her natural inclination is to draw a picture of Republicans as people who need to be crushed and defeated," the U.S. senator from Illinois said in a separate telephone interview with the newspaper.
"It's not entirely her fault. She's been the target of some unfair attacks in the past."
I thought defeating Republicans was a good thing, but lets move past that and look at some recent attacks on Barack Obama and Michelle Obama by Republicans and Republican Media outlets:

Twice during a 12-minute news conference at the Aurora Municipal Airport, McCain called Obama the most liberal senator in the U.S. Senate.
"There will be ample time to outline the stark differences between the most liberal Democrat in the United States Senate, according to the National Journal, and myself, who is a proud Republican conservative," McCain said.
Here's the Patriotism dustup.

A member of the American Disabled Veterans group, in turn, accused Mrs Obama of racism.
"Ms Obama, your comments are nothing short of unpatriotic, racist and downright shameful," he wrote.
Cindy McCain, the wife of the Republican frontrunner John McCain, also waded into the controversy.
"I am proud of my country. I don't know about you? If you heard those words earlier, I am very proud of my country."
Now today we have this regarding an issue that just isn't going away as some predicted it would, and in fact appears to be ramping up :

With the corruption trial of one of Sen. Barack Obama's longtime friends and supporters set to begin Monday in Chicago, Ill., reform watchdogs say it will reveal the "cesspool" of Illinois politics in which Obama came of age and has said little about in his campaign for president.
"We have a sick political culture," said Jay Stewart, the executive director of the Chicago Better Government Association, "and that's the environment that Barack Obama came from."
....
While Obama is not considered a target of the Rezko investigation, Stewart says it will shed light on a man who was pivotal to Obama's political career.
"This wasn't just some guy who wrote a check once for Barack Obama, it's someone who was an early supporter and had a personal relationship with Sen. Obama for quite some time," Stewart said.
Now lets be clear, none of these things are Obama's or Michelle's fault. Not only that, I'll go one further and say these are wrong despicable attacks on not just Obama but on a Democrat.
